Security Specialist

Duties The security specialist participates as a member of integrated government/contractor teams providing information assurance/information systems security support to organizational activities. The specialist performs risk assessments and security testing as part of a security engineering team. The specialist analyzes system security on a variety of information systems, network devices (firewalls, routers, and switches), web server and database applications. The specialist supports the certification and accreditation process for IT systems and networks including preparation of key documentation and planning and conducting security tests and evaluations, analytical and systems engineering for development of strategic plans and security architectures for government activities. The security specialist also develops and/or analyzes information systems security requirements.
Experience Two to five years general information assurance or information systems engineering experience.

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification and Department of Defense experience preferred. Knowledge of commercial and government information assurance automated tools (e.g. Retina, ISS Scanner, DISA Gold Disk) preferred. Professional certifications such as CISA, SANS, GIAC, MCSE, and CCNA are a plus.
Degree B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline is required
Travel Limited (less than 5%)

U.S. citizenship required.   Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
