Senior Security Officer

Duties

Develop and maintain appropriate controls to ensure that access to business information is handled in a controlled and secure manner for an approximate 500 person division. Maintain/recommend upgrades to internal monitoring systems including access alarm and video surveillance systems. Ensure subcontractor compliance with security requirements. Provide security training to all employees on an annual basis. Review, submit, and coordinate requests for security clearances for new personnel, contracting personnel, etc.

Experience 

 

Minimum of five years.

Working knowledge of DOE security concepts including physical security, document classification and marking, and computer security. Knowledge of and/or experience with day-to-day operations of alarm and surveillance systems. Ability to present information, whether written or verbal, in a clear, concise manner. Ability to gather facts, analyze, produce results, and determine courses of action for various aspects of maintaining security. Previous experience as security officer of a DOE-sponsored site is highly desirable.

Degree

B.S. degree in Business, Engineering, or other technical field is required.

Travel

Limited (less than 5%)

 U.S. citizenship required.
Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
