Motor Design Engineer

Duties

Project engineering responsibilities requiring the technical cognizance of canned and air-gap motors for turbomachinery. Activities include sponsoring development programs, establishing testing requirements, technical review and approval of supplier designs, independent motor design analysis, computer analysis tool utilization, machinery vibration evaluations, technical specification preparation, engineering follow for manufacturing, and testing phase problem resolution. Extensive communications with customer and supplier personnel required.

Experience 

 

One to ten years.

A strong background in rotating machinery is required. Experience in induction motor and permanent magnet motor design and analysis is desired. Familiarity with motor finite element analysis and mechanical design is a plus.

Degree

B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering with other backgrounds considered

Travel

Occasional (less than 5%)

 U.S. citizenship required.
Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
