Manufacturing/Affordability Engineer

Duties

The candidate should possess a good understanding of drawing and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing practices and possess the ability to critically review mechanical designs for manufacturing affordability. The fundamentals of welding practices/processes, tooling and fixturing design, dimensional inspection practices, material selection with a familiarity with castings, forgings, and stock structural shapes, and a basic knowledge of cost estimating practices is desired. The candidate should have a strong ability to work effectively in teams, possess good communications skills, both written and oral, and have the ability to resolve a wide variety of manufacturing problems.

Experience 

 

Minimum of five years working experience in machining, welding, and fabrication practices for small to large mechanical components.

Degree

B. S. in Industrial/Manufacturing engineering or equivalent

Travel

Moderate (10-20%)

 U.S. citizenship required.
Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
